Now it is Time to be Worried

Discussing, arguing, debating about this religious nut or that religious attempt at coercion has been a way of life in blogs and other venues for a long time. Now things are poised to take a dramatic turn. North Carolina (1) may adopt an official State Religion and challenge the U.S. Constitution to stop them. Who knows where this may lead, but I can tell you this: it is time to be worried.
This flies in the face, no, worse, this flings shit in the face of the Constitution and of the Founding Fathers that these conservative morons claim to love and venerate. If I were any religion other than Christian I would began making plans to evacuate the State of North Carolina. If I were a Christian I would be terribly embarrassed. If I were an American, I would be really pissed off. Wait. I AM an American, and this really, really pisses me off. How about you?

Ohh good ol’ constitution, an elusive piece of work that is meaningless. I feel as the entire constitution started off as a really good reason for boys to get away from their wives to get drunk and party it up with some good intentions. Constitution and Communism have something great in common; both look good on paper, but don’t work in real world. Let see:
1. Freedom of Speech – as long you don’t speak too loud or to the wrong person, or against somebody that knows somebody, that knows somebody that runs this country (the people that own the congress or the president).
2. Right to bear arms – another one of those outdated ideas and as long as an idiot doesn’t kill somebody. How hypocritical are we to tell the entire world that they can’t have weapons, but we ourselves have the right to individually owe them (well at least for right now). Remember the costly war in Iraq? Weapon based, humanitarian based, ohhh yea it was oil based.
3. Freedom of Religion - …say what? I don’t have to say anything about this one, as looking around would suffice. I find this amendment in particular amusing simply because this topic has killed and resulted to more suffering than any other reason combined. Personal religion = great; organized religion = destruction. Pope is a funny figure that reflects the bible itself as it is created by males. There is simply nothing godly about the pope as he was not selected by god him/herself because if that would be the case we would still be waiting for a pope. I know of a person that cheated and said that god forgave him so he is still together with his significant other, I read about people that fly planes into buildings or blow themselves up because god told them to, I know people that will ask for you to put your hands on a bible to swear upon telling the truth and only the truth (ha, what a joke), I see tags that say in god we trust (what god and why should I trust him/her). I know of a person that talks to himself and ended up in a mental institution, and I know of somebody that talks to god and is a preacher (profession). There has never been a freedom of religion and what N.C. is doing is what has been done under the tables for a very long time and it is just becoming public. I guess, I see it as coming out of closet. I find it funny that still there are states that don’t allow alcohol sales on Sunday. Why Sunday, I am always wondering? Beer, wine, bible, vodka has been created by the same hand of god so why not on Sunday?
4. Right to vote when you are 18 – you are mature to vote, go to war, start a family, operate a vehicle, perform any task there is, but you are not mature enough to drink…
5. Prohibits cruel and unusual punishments – well this one only goes until you piss the government off and than this is off the table or is simply done in a different country.
6. Right for fair trial – ohh that one is a fun one as well and depends on who you piss off.

This debate of N.C. will cost the country millions of dollars to make the religion some money. It is a beginning of an end.
